To book a nature birthday party, call the Flat Rock Brook office:

Parties may be scheduled on Saturdays or Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Reservations must be made in advance.

Time period indicated includes all set up and clean up. Your event must be over, and the cleanup completed by the end of your rental period.

The cost of room rental and nature walk is $225.

A rental agreement will be prepared specifying your liability and supervisory responsibility.

The fee must be paid when you receive your rental agreement in order to secure your reservation.

Cancellation: with a one-month notice, we will refund half of your payment. With earlier notification, your entire payment will be refunded.

No parties are held during July and August.

Nature Birthday Parties at Flat Rock Brook

Birthday Parties have been temporarily suspended. We expect them to resume in the near future.

Flat Rock Brook Nature Center offers birthday party programs for children four years and older. Group size is limited to 15 children including siblings. Our naturalist will lead an hour-long indoor/outdoor nature program on weekends.

Program Options:

Nature Hunt: Children work in teams to search out Flat Rock's "treasures" while taking an educational nature walk. Prizes for all!

Insect Interview: Meet the friendly Giant Madagascan Hissing Cockroaches! Children can touch and hold these bugs and then go on a nature walk to search for more creepy crawly friends.

Seasonal Nature Hike: Party guests walk the trails of Flat Rock and explore the wonders of the natural world.

Meet the Critters: Children will see and touch Flat Rock's resident reptiles and amphibians while learning interesting facts about their lives.

Party Space:
You will be renting our classroom/kitchen for a three-hour period which includes set up and clean up time. Upon arrival, you can set-up for your party. The nature program begins one half hour into your rental period. Following the program, children use the classroom-kitchen for refreshments and party activities, followed by your clean-up.

Nature Program:
Our naturalist/teacher will lead the children on a one-hour nature program, which may be conducted partly or totally outdoors. You must provide two adult supervisors to accompany the children on the outdoor portion of any program. Please ensure that all guests are dressed to be outdoors. Party rental is not canceled due to rain or cold weather. In case of inclement weather, indoor nature activities will be substituted for the outdoor walk.We strongly suggest you visit our facility before renting to be sure that it meets your needs.

We provide:
Private room for 3 hours; one-hour nature program led by our naturalist; Tables and chairs, refrigerator, stove, microwave, sink; Trash bags and supplies for clean up (sponge, mop, broom, dustpan.

You supply:
Food, drinks and ice; Tablecloths, napkins, cups (no Styrofoam), plates, utensils; decorations and party favors; supervision of your guests; set-up and cleanup.

Safety:
Two adults must be present to supervise your group of 15 children. Renters shall comply with park rules, safety laws and fire laws. No smoking is allowed. Flammable materials for decoration are not permitted. Parking is in designated areas only.

Liability:
Renter shall be responsible for behavior for all participants. Renter assumes full responsibility for personal injury to participants within the building and for property damage. We require information on your homeowner’s policy. Flat Rock assumes no responsibility for possessions left on premises by renter. Flat Rock reserves the right to terminate your event for non-compliance with these regulations.

Rules:
The following are not permitted: running inside, ball playing, piñatas, balloons or noisemakers.The room must be left in the condition you found it. Clean all surfaces. Sweep and clean floors.Your event must take place in the classroom only. Children may not eat outside nor in our carpeted main room.
