E: For children entering 7th - 8th grades
Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. $275

E-1 The STEM is Mightier than the Sword (July 15-19)
Design and complete your own studies at Flat Rock Brook on a variety of topics with assistance from FRB staff.

E-2 Environmental Educators (August 19-23)
Campers will get teaching experience as they learn how to engage with our youngest campers and assist with teaching their lessons.

Children entering 1st and 2nd grades

B: For children entering 1st and 2nd grades
Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. $275

B-1: Dragons and Damselflies (June 24 - June 28)
Creepy crawlies and busy bees! This week of camp will show campers how interesting and fun bugs can really be!

B-2: Think Outside the Frogs (July 8 - July 12)
Amphibians are some of the most fascinating creatures in the animal world, living their lives partly underwater and partly on land. Campers will love learning about these awesome and delicate critters.

B-3: Bird is the Word (July 29 - August 2)
Birds come in all shapes and sizes. Campers will learn about tiny, cheerful songbirds and large, stoic owls. They will even meet a few along the way!

B-4: Marvelous Mammals (August 26 - August 30)
Mammals are often a favorite animal with their soft fuzzy coats. Campers will learn about mammals of all sorts, including themselves (humans)!

For children entering 3rd and 4th grades

C: For children entering 3rd and 4th grades
Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. $275

C-1: Operation: Adaptation (June 24 - June 28)
Adaptations are behaviors or physical characteristics that help animals survive in their habitats, or homes. Campers will explore adaptations of different animals and see real examples of those adaptations in action!

C-2: The Science of Nature (July 15 - July 19)
Nature is at the center of many different science fields. Whether you’re studying outer space or the stories rocks tell us of the past, nature plays a role. Campers explore all of those fields and more during their week at Flat Rock Brook!

C-3: The Markings of an Animal (August 5 - August 9)
You should never judge a book by its cover…but you CAN identify an animal by its markings! This week will cover the many markings and features that make an animal recognizable.

C-4: CSI: FRB (August 26 - August 30)
Join an investigative team solving the latest “whodunnits” of the forest. Track down animals and figure out which critter is responsible for tracks found on the ground or screeches heard up in the trees.

D: For children entering 5th - 6th grades
Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. $275

D-1: Animal Investigation (July 8- July 12)
The forest is a busy place with wildlife moving all about. We can’t always spot animals but we can use clues to figure out who has been around.

D-2: Fanciful Creatures and Where to Spot Them (July 22 - July 26)
If you’re a Harry Potter fan and a nature enthusiast—this is the camp for you! We combine studies of wildlife with themes from Harry Potter to create a magical week at Flat Rock Brook.

D-3: Survival of the Scientist (August 12- August 16)
This is a great camp for the budding scientist. Campers will explore a new science field each day, covering many STEM topics from physics to biology.

Children 4 & 5 Years Old

A: For children 4 & 5 years old
Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. $175 (Session A-1 is $140)

A-1: Exploring Animals (July 1 - July 5 (no camp July 4))
From underground insects to birds flying way up in the sky; children will investigate a different family of animals every day through hands-on activities and exploration.

A-2: Homes of the Wild (July 29 - August 2)
Where does an owl live? What does a chipmunk’s house look like? Campers will learn all about the places animals call home and head to those homes in search of wild critters!

A-3: Inspired by Nature (August 19 - August 23)
People can learn a lot from nature—we have been inspired to create handy tools and more. This camp will show campers how nature has inspired us and shows that the forest is not too different from our own homes!
