Friends of Jill Bennetta Raise $1,004 for Flat Rock Brook
Jill Bennetta Fundraiser Supports Raptors and Education
Friends and family of Jill Bennetta celebrated her life and love of Flat Rock Brook by hosting a fundraiser in honor of her 44th birthday. Jill was Flat Rock's beloved Education Director for over a decade. We lost her far too early after she lost her fierce battle with an illness last year.
During her time at Flat Rock she positively impacted thousands of children and adults with her infectious love of the natural world and irresistible charm. Jill was the face of environmental education at Flat Rock Brook for thirteen years. During this time she developed engaging programming for children that fostered and cultivated their love of nature and inspired their power to protect it.
Jill was particularly known for her love of our raptors - a group of non-releasable birds that call Flat Rock Brook home. She travelled with our birds to deliver Birds of Prey Programs. She shared the importance of their place on our planet with groups, instilling an appreciation of these birds to riveted audiences.
Jill's loving friends and family raised funding to support a one-year Hero Level Adoption of our Great Horned Owl - Jill's favorite girl - and additional funding to provide general support to our environmental education program.
The entire staff and board extend a warm "thank you" for your generosity and for honoring Jill's memory at Flat Rock Brook.
