We have broken ground on Phase 1 of our Jones Road improvement and restoration project. The plan features a new nature-based playground with ADA-friendly stations, an expanded picnic grove and expanded bridge and walkways. The Orange Trail, restrooms, playground and picnic area will be closed until Summer 2025. Read more about the project >
Flat Rock Welcomes New President Chelsea Gleis
Long term Flat Rock Brook supporter Chelsea Gleis is our new President of the Board of Directors. Chelsea began her time at Flat Rock Brook hiking with her family, watching her kids enjoy the creek and playground, and participating in the 5k. Since then, she has served on the board for five years, chairing the Building Committee and co-chairing the Visioning Committee. Chelsea previously served as Chair of the Englewood Environmental Commission and is currently a Senior Planner at Burgis Associates. She earned her B.A. in Architectural Studies at Tufts University and her master’s degree in Urban Planning at Columbia University. She lives in Englewood with her husband Josh, their three kids, and two dogs.
Samsung Electronics America and Flat Rock Brook THRIVING TOGETHER
Flat Rock Brook and Samsung are partnering to help our community thrive. Samsung supported Flat Rock Brook with a team of volunteers on their company-wide Day of Service in October. They rolled up their sleeves – and carted some lumber - to help rebuild our Quarry Boardwalk. This new ADA compliant project will welcome mobility challenged visitors and other guests along the perimeter of vernal pools, our Native Habitat Gardens, and Raptor Aviary. Samsung recently deepened their friendship with our preserve by making a generous contribution to support our preservation and education mission. We look forward to officially welcoming Samsung to the neighborhood when they move into their new Englewood Cliffs headquarters in 2025 and to continuing to build a long-term partnership that benefits habitats, wildlife and community!
