Flat Rock Brook Nature Preserve provides a healthy habitat for a wide variety of plants and animals. Explore the different adaptations that help each creature survive in its habitat. How does the rabbit get away from the fox? What helps the mouse elude the owls and snakes? Find out who survives during this week-long look at Survival of the Prey! **Please note this week is a half-day of camp Monday through Friday. We do have ½ day on July 4, 2025.

Nature is the perfect place to be for STEM projects. This hands-on week will ignite your imagination with hands-on activities such as building a better boat, launching rockets, making a solar oven to make s’mores, experiment with water, and of course, taking a canoe trip around Quarry Pond!

Yo-Ho and Ahoy maty! Come to Flat Rock Brook for an ocean of fun! Learn how the sea and the ocean work together to make amazing waves to surf or calm seas to sail. Dive into the deep to explore coral reefs, learn about fish that light up, and see a camouflaging sea critter. Haven’t had enough sun? Come outside and play beach games and take a canoe ride with your camp friends!

Flat Rock Nature trails are full of reptiles and amphibians, see how many you can find as we travel through the forest and wetlands in search of Flat Rock Reptiles. See the pond turtles up close on a canoe trip around Quarry Pond.

Explore the world - literally! This camp group will learn what makes the third rock from the sun so AMAZING! Campers will hike, craft, and learn about rocks, geology, the rock cycle, and how water effects it all! Then we will take the canoe out on the water for a short trip around quarry pond.

Didn’t get enough STEM this summer? Flat Rock Brook has an entire week devoted to the most extreme STEM activities we could find. Put on your gloves and goggles for these explosive experiments such as elephant toothpaste, rockets, and solar-powered snacks.

Flat Rock Brook Nature Association’s property has undergone so many changes. This land has been underwater, creating areas with fossilized sea life, was under miles of glacial ice, leaving its mark on stone slabs. In more recent times this area was home to indigenous people, colonial settlements, farms, residences and even a rock quarry. Explore the past, learn about early cultures, and use clues to uncover facts about Flat Rock’s history.

Learn about the amazing things animals can do and how they have taught humans to solve problems in some wild ways!
Help save the planet through arts and crafts. reuse materials which can be hard to recycle during these upcycling, nature and animal themed activities you can share with friends and family. Learn simple ways to reduce your use of plastic and help make the earth a healthier place for all.
